Mahdi is Founder & Principal Consultant of Triumph Gas Technology Consulting in Houston, Texas. Mahdi has over 23 years of solid experience in gas processing and cryogenic gas processing (NGL and LNG facilities) and carbon capture, CO2 compression & dehydration and transmission. Prior to forming Triumph, Mahdi was Vice President of Upstream, Midstream & LNG sector at Americas Region with Worley Group; Director of Upstream and Midstream with Jacobs and Jacobs Consultancy; Technical Specialist of Gas Processing & LNG with Bechtel Oil, Gas and Chemicals. Mahdi has led consultancy, design, engineering, project management teams for gas plants and LNG facilities design small to large, gas plants modularization, bench-marking, due diligence, feasibility and conceptual studies, economic analysis, Owner’s Engineer (OE), Independent Engineer (IE), operation readiness, technical services (energy optimization, troubleshooting, de-bottlenecking and operation support).
Mahdi has held key leadership roles in design of over two-dozen gas processing plants and five world class LNG facilities e.g. Sabin Pass LNG, Atlantic LNG, Wheatstone LNG and Angola LNG and four gas processing plant during start-up e.g. Khursaniyah Gas Plant and OGD III Gas Plant.
Mahdi is principle author for a new reference book on Gas Treating and Processing: Practices in Design and Operation Book (CRC Press). He has published various papers in the world of gas processing and has presented the keynote addresses for the AIChE Spring gas utilization conference in 2017 and 2019.
Mahdi holds a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering. Mahdi is an active member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE), Institute of Chemical Engineering (IChemE), Gas Processors Association (GPA). Mahdi is also the Chairman of the Facility Design, Operation and Maintenance Committee and the Chairman of the Facility Forum at GPA Midstream since 2018, Director of AIChE Management Division (2019 – 2021) and Director of AIChE F&PD (2017 – 2020).
Chip Burkett PE
Chip has worked over 40 years in the natural gas compression, treating and NGL recovery and crude oil industries performing process engineering, controls system design, PSM, commissioning & startup, and project management responsibilities. Has over 28 years with operating companies including Conoco, Colorado Interstate Gas Company, Western Gas Resources, Aka Energy Group, and Arrow Midstream. Performed contract engineering services domestically and internationally for 16 years working with clients including Kinder Morgan, Chevron, Aurora Field Services, Tom Brown, Union Pacific Resources, Equitable Gas, British Petroleum and Medallion. Has extensive process and project experience rebuilding and relocating expander plants. Recent responsibilities include project management, process and control systems design, technical support of operating facilities, project implementation, and process safety management (PSM) compliance efforts. Chip is active in GPA Midstream Organization and is past Chair of GPA Midstream Facility Design, Operation and Maintenance Committee.
Tony has over 37 years of experience in cryogenic gas processing, natural gas liquids fractionation, treating, dehydration, gathering systems and power generation facilities. Recent experience includes a Midstream Engineering Manager role with Halff Associates, where he led projects for midstream operating companies. In that role, he managed projects and provided oversight to engineers and drafting designers, in addition to performing business development for the Oil & Gas group.
Tony has extensive experience in the Midstream business, both in engineering and in leadership roles. Prior to his consulting role, he worked in roles of increasing responsibilities as a Plant Engineer, Operations Engineer, Process Engineer, Operations Superintendent, Operations Team Lead, Plant Manager and Director of Operations. Having worked directly for Operating Companies for most of his career, he is well rounded in the needs of clients, ranging from small independent companies to large corporations.
Tony’s experience includes process work for consolidation of several gathering systems, process design for an ethylene export facility, hydraulic calculations for optimization of Houston area liquid pipelines, process calculations for the addition of a dephlegmator for producing purity ethane, optimization of facilities and compression, design of a natural gas liquids transport facility, managing large turnarounds, Process Safety Management and Risk Management Plans. One of the more recent projects that he managed was a PSM
Jan Wagner PEng
Jan Wagner is a Process Engineer with over forty-five years experience. Experience covers conceptual and detail design of crude unit, heavy oil upgrading, offshore oil and gas production and processing, onshore gas plants, NGL recovery, ethylene, fertilizers, cogeneration, syngas derivatives (methanol, ammonia, Fischer-Tropsch, DME and hydrogen), utility and offsites for projects in Europe, Africa, North America and Australia. He currently focuses on Gas Production, Gas Processing and Syngas Derivatives (methanol, Fischer-Tropsch) technologies.
Jan was Technical Director Process Engineering of Fluor (Canada), Vice President Process & Technology at Aker Solutions (Canada) and Country Technology Manager at Aker Solutions (Australia).
Jan published and presented numerous technical papers on gas processing, conversion and transportation including marine CNG, gas floating production and processing concepts, associated gas utilization, synthetic fuels production and bitumen upgrading (partial and full).
Jan received his Master of Science degree in Process Engineering from Czech Technical University in Prague in 1967. Jan is Life Member of The Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta.
Peter Kauders CEng, Fellow of IChemE
Peter has over 40 years of process development, engineering and design management experience with both operating and contracting companies in the oil and gas, and LNG industries. His experience covers business and technical consulting, the supervision of process design work, process plant cost estimating and economic analysis, and assistance in trouble-shooting, safety and start up. In his time at Bechtel, Peter led teams engaged on the design of the 3rd NGL fractionation train at Ruwais, the largest in the world and the development of the Karachaganak gas condensate field in Kazakhstan and Khursaniyah Gas Plant in Saudi Arabia.
He has published papers on gas processing through the European Chapter of the GPA, where he served on its Technical Committee, and also articles on chemical engineering practice in The Chemical Engineer.
Eberhard is a well-established and recognized expert in the oil refining and gas processing industries with over 29 years of experience as a consultant, engineer and manager. Starting as process and technology engineer in one of Germany’s leading refinery, Eberhard moved on to work in Venezuela, the USA and South America in distinct roles like consultant, lead process engineer, owner’s engineer, project manager, department manager and company executive. He led studies and design work in oil refining and petrochemicals, as well as gas monetization and carbon capture and utilization.
Eberhard supported many projects as owner’s engineer and consultant by providing design reviews, due diligence and technical management. Eberhard serves on the advisory board for the Professional Science Masters Program (Environmental) at Rice University.
Allen has over 18 years of experience in upstream and midstream industry (gas treating & processing, cryogenic gas processing and de-carbonization). His specialties include process simulation modelling, conceptual design, technology and process configuration selection, economic analysis, process optimization and debottlenecking, feasibility study.
Allen has been responsible in leading numerous process design and debottlenecking projects in upstream and midstream from concept development to construction and commissioning. He is able to take unique approaches and create outstanding process simulation models and automation tools useful for process engineers and operators in oil and gas processing fields.
Senior Reservoir Engineer
Naser has over 15 years in CO2 Injection modeling, unconventional and conventional reservoir simulation. Had experience in the Middle East, Africa, South America, and North America. Had outstanding consulting background with various clients including Chevron, Apache, Aera Energy, Conoco Philips, OXY, Marathon, and Parsley. Had Data Analysis and Computer Programming knowledge and developed hundred of comprehensive exclusive software in different aspects of Petroleum Engineering such as Petrophysics, Geology, Fluid Properties, Oil and Gas Accounting, and Reservoir Simulation.
